Test Point Identifier
Two test points that look identical across the bench can carry different threads, and the hose that mates with one will not mate with the other. Type the marking you can read, or measure the crests if there is no marking, and the tool tells you which thread you are holding.

What the two threads mean for your order
| Thread | Where it turns up | What to put on the order |
|---|---|---|
| M16 × 2 | The Test 20 / 1620 pattern, and the thread we build as standard. | Quote as standard. Nothing extra needs saying. |
| M16 × 1.5 | Fitted on some machines alongside the coarser thread, and close enough to be mistaken for it. | State the pitch on the order. We cut it on request, but only if it is named. |
Model assumptions, stated so you can argue with them: pitch is the measured span divided by the number of crests you counted across it, so five crests over 10 mm reads as a 2 mm pitch; a reading is matched to a named thread when it falls within 0.15 mm of that thread’s pitch, which is wide enough to absorb a worn crest and narrow enough to keep the two M16 threads apart. If your measurement lands between the two, do not guess it: send us a photograph.
